Back to city life 🙌🏻
It’s now been over a month since I left the farm and moved to Melbourne.
I started in Base hostel where I met a great group of people who I spent my time with for the first week. It was great to meet some new people and give hostel life another go, I found I settled a lot better after being in the hostel for more than 3 days as I had done over travelling the East coast.
Base hostel is great for the party, the bar has something going on every night from bingo to bar crawls!
For people planning on travelling on their own i’d definitely say it’s easier to meet new people this way, just because you have to try that bit harder than you would do if you already came with friends. You don’t have plans with your own group of friends so you go along with what other people do which is a great way to travel 🙂
As for Melbourne itself it’s a city full of trams, lots of art and cool bars. However, try visit in the summer at the moment it is far too cold down here- I’ve just bought a dressing gown… Sydney is still my favourite city!
I had some great days and nights out with the Base gang, unfortunately lots of people only stay in Base for short term so most people have now moved on!
St Kilda is a great place to stay as a back packer, there are a few hostels around, a lot of bars and the beach nearby. We bumped into a man with loads of husky puppies 🐶 = day made!
There isn’t many tourist attractions in Melbourne but definitely go check out the Penguins on St Kilda pier, they come out at sunset every night 🐧🐧🐧
There is loads of steeet art dotted around on buildings across the city, first and foremost go check out the art scene at Hosier Lane, Melbourne’s famous graffiti street!
As for work i’ve gone back to the sales company I worked for back in Brisbane, it’s nice to go back into something and know the way everything work also hey to be back in the luxury of a house 🏠
